2 Arrested for Anti-Semitic Hate Crime in Budapest

Budapest police on Saturday said they had arrested two men after the president of a local branch of the Budapest Jewish Faith Community, Andras Kerenyi, was verbally and physically assaulted after leaving a synagogue late on Friday, according to a statement on the Budapest police website.

According to AFP, the men were later detained and charged with violent assault against a member of a community group. Gusztav Zoltai, the director of the Alliance of Hungarian Jewish Faith Communities, told Hungarian state news agency MTI that Kereneyi was kicked in the stomach by the assailants who shouted "rotten filthy Jews, you will all die".
