The official value of the shekel rose an average of .086 percent, Friday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.856, down .593 percent from Thursday's rate, while the Euro slipped .042 percent to to 5.0172 shekels.
The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.2434, down .112 percent, and 100 Japanese yen fell .472 percent to 4.9155 shekels. The Canadian dollar slipped .015 percent to NIS 3.9323, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.953 shekels, down .194 percent, and the South African Rand plunged 2.32 percent to NIS .4462. The Norwegian Krone rose .34 percent to .6783 shekels and the Swedish Krona was set at NIS .5841, up .24 percent.
