Defense Minister Ehud Barak said, Friday morning, that Israel must be prepared for the threats that face it but that people should not fear. Interviewed by Israel Defense Forces Radio about situation in Syria and the Iranian nuclear threat, he said a look at the broader picture shows a strong Israeli society that can be proud of the jealousy felt around the world for the country's knowhow. Barak continued, "There are developments we don't want but if forced to, we will activate the IDF's might." He also said, "If we get to a test, then we will be tested and we will win."
Regarding early elections, Barak said, "We get a day closer to elections every single day. In any case, it will be this year. One should be prepared to defend the country even during elections."
