The Commander of the Nachal Hareidi’s Netzach Yehuda Battalion, Lt. Amichai Segal, said on Thursday that the army knows how to bridge the gap between a non-religious lifestyle and a religious lifestyle, and emphasized that the IDF wants hareidi-religious Jews to enlist. Speaking to Arutz Sheva in a farewell interview as he prepares to end his role and retire from the IDF, Segal said, “My expectations are that the battalion will grow and if that happens, then other such units will be launched. The IDF is prepared for hareidim and wants them in the army.”
