Report: Israel, Syria Coordinated Security Activities

Syria was in contact with Israel regarding security arrangements on the Israeli-Syrian border within a month of the start of anti-government demonstrations in Syria last year, according to secret Syrian documents revealed, Thursday evening, by the Al-Arabiya network. The revelation was the latest among documents obtained with the aid of opposition forces.

One of the documents was a letter from Syrian air-intelligence chief Sakr Manoun to Colonel Suhil Hassan in which Manoun ordered Hassan to approach the Israeli border for security reasons "in coordination with the Israeli army". Another document indicates that the Damascus government moved chemical weapons from their storage sites, in contradiction to previous declarations by the regime.
