Shekel, Euro Up; Dollars Down


The official value of the shekel rose an average of .086 percent, Thursday, against most of the featured currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign-exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.879, down .129 percent, while the Euro rose .02 percent to 5.0193 shekels.

The pound sterling was set at NIS 6.2504, down .131 percent, while 100 Japanese yen fell .57 percent to 4.9388 shekels. The Canadian dollar slipped .015 percent to NIS 3.9329, while its Australian counterpart was fixed at 3.960 shekels, down .086 percent, and the South African Rand fell .847 percent to NIS .4568.
