U.S. President Barack Obama wanted to capture Osama bin Laden alive and bring him to trial in the United States, according to a new book on the assassination of the former al-Qaeda leader.

In the book, entitled “The Finish,” journalist Mark Bowden quotes the president as saying that he would have preferred to place bin Laden on trial in order to show the moral power of the United States.
