Israel Congratulates Georgia on Democratic Elections

Israel's Foreign Ministry congratulated the country of Georgia on its historic elections calling them a "great contribution to democracy in Georgia." The Foreign Ministry praised both the current Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and the newly elected Bidzina Ivanishvili.
"Israel wishes to strengthen cooperation between Georgia and Israel and will ensure the continued good relations between the two countries and their peoples," the Foreign Ministry stated.
The country of Georgia borders on Russia, Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
