      ‘Slightly Optimistic’ Economic Forecast

Ofer Klein, head of Harel Insurance’s economy and research team, announced Wednesday that the team’s economic forecast for 2013 is “a bit optimistic.”

“We think that the growth estimated in 2013 will be lower – 2.7 percent, especially if the government decides not to pass the budget and to go to elections,” he said. Inflation is expected to be approximately two percent, he said, and due to economic instability in Europe interest rates are more likely to drop than to rise.
