A man expelled from Gush Katif more than seven years ago is renewing a town tradition by hosting his neighbors during Sukkot. Motti Sandler of Ganei Tal used to host an annual Simchat Beit Hashoevah celebration, an event commemorating the ceremonial drawing of water in the Temple.
For years the community lived in temporary homes, and was not able to celebrate. This year, Sandler has entered a new home a new community, also called Ganei Tal. “It’s very exciting… Tonight we will all meet and sing and play music and of course remember together,” he told Arutz Sheva.
