General Avraham Adan Laid to Rest

General Avraham Adan, who passed away recently, was buried Tuesday in a military ceremony in Kibbutz Shefayim. Adan was praised for his “exemplary calm under fire” and “impressive command ability” by Southern Command head General Tal Russo.

Adan first served in the pre-state Palmach militia, and was known for raising a makeshift Israeli flag over Eilat. He later joined the IDF, and in the Yom Kippur war led troops in repelling an Egyptian assault. He is survived by three children, 11 grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren.
