Regavim to Fill In for State Inspectors during Sukkot

The Regavim movement for protection of state lands decided, this week, to take the place of building enforcement inspectors of the Civil Administration for Judea and Samaria (Shomron), most of whom are on vacation during the Sukkot holiday. Regavim is also asking the public to report illegal building or attempts to take over state lands.

The movement issued a statement that Palestinian Authority residents have learned to take advantage of the lack of government enforcement during holidays, establishing populated areas that are discovered when the inspectors return to work. They illustrated the point with the story of the Jahalin clan, which established an illegal village during the Passover holiday - six months ago - near Ma'aleh Adumim, just east of Jerusalem.
