An Iranian jury decided Sunday to convict the news organization Reuters over a headline they claimed was false, according to Iran's Press TV.
Reuters ran a video script about Iranian women's martial arts training with the headline "Thousands of female Ninjas train as Iran's assassins," and after outrage from the Iranian government, it was quickly corrected to read "Three thousand women Ninjas train in Iran."
However, the quick correction was not enough to clear Reuters from punishment. In March, the Iranian government suspended the press accreditation of all Reuters staff in Tehran and now the guilty charge of "propagating against the Islamic Republic and disseminating false information to disturb public opinion," will lead to a court ruling early this month.
