As has happened in the past, air quality was much better this year on Yom Kippur than on an average workday. Pollution measures fell significantly in Israel's major cities, measurements for last Wednesday showed, the Environment Ministry said Sunday.

The improvement is attributed to the fact that few Israelis drive on Yom Kippur.
