Mofaz: Keep Iran Out of Elections

Speaking in an interview, Kadima head Shaul Mofaz urged all political parties to keep the Iranian issue out of election campaigns. Mofaz said that he suspected that the “red line” Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu laid out during his speech last week at the UN was likely to be reached in the spring – just in time for when Netanyahu expects elections in Israel to be called, Mofaz told Army Radio in an interview. “I do not even want to consider that the possibility of a military action or war would be a factor for the Prime Minister to change the date for the next election,” he said.

“When it comes to Iran we must deal with the issue as if there is no election, and conduct elections as if there is no Iranian threat,” he said.
