Defense Minister Ehud Barak saluted on Friday General Avraham Adan (Bren), who passed away on Thursday evening at the age of 86.
"We remember the picture of Bren waving the 'Flag of Ink' over Eilat in the War of Independence. I had the privilege of fighting under Bren as division commander during the Yom Kippur War battles in the Sinai," said Barak.
He added, "Bren was one of the most important field commanders of the army, who set, using a personal example and exemplary coolness under fire, the norms that accompany the IDF to this day. Generations of warriors will always remember him."
