Hershkowitz: Take PA Statehood Bid Off the Agenda

Chairman Daniel Hershkowitz of the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) reacted, Friday morning, to Thursday's speech by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at the United Nations by saying, "Along with raising the issue of the Iranian threat to the top of the agenda, the Palestinian bid for a Palestinian state must be lowered from the agenda."

Reacting to the UN speech of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, Rabbi Hershkowitz said, "Abu Mazen has once again proven, in his speech last night, that a Palestinian state will create an enemy state east of our country with military capabilities that can cut the state narrow waist [a 12-mile wide stretch northeast of Tel Aviv -ed.]. Between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan there is room for only one country - Israel."
