Hagai Amir, brother of Yigal Amir who murdered former Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin, apologized on Thursday to Meretz chairwoman MK Zehava Galon, after a user called for Galon’s murder on Amir’s Facebook page.
Earlier, Meretz filed a complaint with the Knesset officer after a user wrote on Amir’s Facebook page, “Should Zehava Galon be murdered? I really can’t stand her.” After he was answered in the negative, the user wrote, “And if Zehava Galon would bring Oslo Accords 2? Then would you support her murder?”
After Meretz complained over the incident, Amir apologized to Galon and said, “Zehava, I respect you and think you're fair. I apologize if you were offended.” Amir added that the conversation on his Facebook page was contrary to his opinion and noted that he deleted it immediately.
