Avi Dichter, the newly installed Homeland Defense Minister, said Monday night that Israel was prepared to face all threats against it. “The State of Israel must match its answers to the new military challenges in the region,” Dichter said at an IDF memorial event. “Anyone who can show a nuclear weapon can talk about a world war. We will ensure that we are able to answer all challenges, both far and near.”
Israel, he said, “is the only body that is responsible for the safety and security of its citizens,” Dichter added.
