Firefighters who worked to douse a fire near the Shuafat neighborhood in Jerusalem were greeted with stones by residents. The firefighters had been called in to douse a brush fire that had threatened several houses in the area. Residents called the firefighters, who worked for several hours to douse the flames.
When they were done, the crowd of Arabs that had gathered to watch them work began throwing stones at them. Border police came in to rescue the firefighters, and they, too, were the victims of stone throwing. The border police managed to extract the firefighters safely. No injuries were reported.
