CBS: Fewer Deaths, Injuries in Road Accidents

The Central Bureau of Statistics said Monday that the number of vehicle accidents in which Israelis were injured has fallen. In August 2012, the total number of accidents, including in Judea and Samaria, was 969, of which 16 had fatalities and 108 had individuals with serious injuries. Altogether, 1,928 people were injured, with 18 dead and 130 sustaining serious injuries.

Those figures represent a 1.2% drop in accidents with injured victims from figures in February 2011. Previously between August 2010 and January 2011, the injury rate in accidents had gone up by 0.5%.
