Tel Aviv Stocks Up Slightly

Most of the indices on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange posted modest gains at the start of trading on Monday. About 10 minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 1,018.19, up .18 percent, while the TA 100 rose two tenths of a percent to 1,028.96, including a .27-percent advance to 1,151.67 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.

Leading the gainers were the communications and media stocks, which rose .57 percent to 480.62, followed by the bank stocks, which stood at 919.35, up .07 percent, with the same percentage increase meaning a posting of 833.31 for the financial institutions, despite a .23-percent decline to 851.38 by the insurance index. The biomed issues edged up .04 percent to 730.01, while the rest of the technology stocks slipped .01 percent to 360.41, and the real-estate index stood at 255.43, down a tenth of a percent.
