Israel’s Chief Sephardic Rabbi, Rav Shlomo Moshe Amar, spoke on Sunday night during a community prayer of Selichot at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hevron.
Rav Amar turned to the audience and asked them to give up all their requests except for one. “We have a lot to ask of G-d - threats and troubles and persecution at home and abroad. How much can we elaborate and ask? Let us all concentrate on one request: Let us all ask for the coming of Mashiach this year. We will waive any other requests to concentrate on this one.”
