David Sharan informed Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz, Sunday, of his intention to step down as the ministry's chief of staff at the age of 42. Sharan has occupied the position since Dr. Steinitz became Treasurer, three-and-a-half years ago. He has been working with Steinitz since the Likud lawmaker's entry into political life in 1999, serving as his senior advisor when he was chairman of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee.
Sharan described those years as intense, challenging and a great privilege. Steinitz called Sharan one of the most intelligent, dedicated and loyal people he has met, adding that Sharan will be an asset to any position he fills in any surroundings he joins.
