Starting Friday, anyone who is interested can enter the Bayit Yehudi (Jewish Home-New National Religious Party) party registration site to see if his or her identification (te'udat zehut) number appears and if he or she is eligible to vote. In due time, election material will be sent to eligibile voters. If one's card number does not appear, a written appeal to the registration committee is possible.
The last day to register as a candidate is the 29th of the Jewish month of Tishrei or October 15th. Rabbi Daniel Tropper, who heads the registration commmittee, said a number of declared candidates still have to finish the registration process. He called the recent registration drive a great success, noting that more than 50,000 people are now signed up with the party.
