UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said on Wednesday that both the Assad regime and the rebel forces are determined to continue with their military confrontation until one of the parties surrenders.

“I think that a military solution is not the answer,” Ban said at a news conference, adding, “Dialogue between the parties will reflect the aspirations and will of the Syrian people.”
