White House: Leadership Means Pushing Israel-PA Peace
Sources in the Obama administration have criticized United States presidential candidate Mitt Romney for saying that it would be virtually impossible to come to a true peace deal between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The PA has “no interest whatsoever in establishing peace,” and would insist on being free to export arms, endangering Israel, Romney told donors in a secret tape leaked online.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said, “It is simply the wrong approach to say, we can’t do anything about it, so we’ll just kick it down the field. That’s not leadership. That’s the opposite of leadership.”
