Minister of Culture Limor Livnat expressed sorrow Tuesday over the passing of Chaim Hefer, the celebrated poet, who died on Rosh Hashannah at the age of 86. “The lyrics written by Chaim Hefer, of blessed memory, have accompanied us throughout Israel’s history, from the establishment of the state,” she said.

“His death is a loss to music and to Israeli culture,” she added.
