YouTube on Wednesday blocked access to the American film which mocks Mohammed to viewers in Egypt and Libya, but did not remove the film from the Internet.

According to a statement by Google, “This video - available widely on the Internet - clearly meets our guidelines and therefore will remain on YouTube. However, given the complicated situation in Libya and Egypt, we have temporarily restricted access to it in both countries. Our hearts are with the families of the victims of the attack in Libya.”
