President Shimon Peres sent a special condolence letter to U.S. President Barack Obama following the murder of the American ambassador in Libya. President Peres wrote, "I received with astonishment and sorrow the news of the brutal attack against the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi in Libya. The loss of life of four American citizens, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, is a major pain and the citizens of Israel share with you."
