Defense Minister Ehud Barak held a closed door meeting Tuesday in which he reportedly spoke of the differences of opinion between Israel and America regarding Iran’s nuclear program. “We must not forget that America is Israel’s main ally,” he said. “We have intimate intelligence ties, and the United States is Israel’s most important supporter when it comes to defense.”
“Israel maintains the right and the responsibility to make whatever decisions are necessary when it comes to its own future and security, and America respects that,” Barak reportedly said. Any disagreements “should be ironed out in open talks behind closed doors,” he added.
