Teens to get Higher Minimum Wage

The minimum wage for working teenagers will increase under a new agreement between the state at the Histadrut national union. The increase will go into effect in October, and is expected to benefit tens of thousands of youth.

Children under age 16 will be paid at least 17.39 shekels per hour under the new law. Teens 16-17 will earn at least 18.64 per hour, and those age 17-18 will earn at least 20.63 per hour.

The minimum wage for adults ages 18 and up is currently 23.11 per hour.
