A report Monday night said that there were more than 20 people injured in Shechem, as Palestinian Authority forces attempted to break up a mass rally against high food costs by residents of the city. Hundreds of PA youths threw stones at police, who opened fire at them and used tear gas grenades to break up the riot.

The protesters were demanding the resignations of PA Prime Minister Salam Fayyad and PA chief Mahmoud Abbas.
