For the first time in several months, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres met on Monday afternoon. This was the first meeting between the two since Peres criticized the idea of attacking Iran last month. Peres said in reference to a possible attack on Iran that “it is clear to us that we are not going to be able to do this alone.” The comments were seen as a public call by Peres to oppose what is presumed to be the opinion of Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
The meeting was seen by political observers as a show of unity in light of various decisions the government is going to take on the Iran issue.
