Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz on Sunday expressed his satisfaction at the government's decision to grant university status to Ariel's institution of higher education. Steinitz said that the move would strengthen Jewish settlement in Judea and Samaria. “It will also provide an important contribution to higher educational and technology education in Israel,” Steinitz added. “As Finance Minister I intend to stand behind the obligations that those before me have made on this issues, as agreed with the heads of the new university,” he added.
