MKs on the right slammed a decision Sunday by the government to appoint Shai Nitzan to a special position in the Attorney General's office. MK Aryeh Eldad (National Union) said that Nitzan could not be trusted to act fairly with the right, “even if the Prime Minister promises that he will. Throughout his career he has been responsible for 'special projects,' similar to those he will be responsible for now. And until now those projects have involved an all-out war against settlements and settlers. Netanyahu has once again surrendered to the junta of the left.”
MK Michael Ben-Ari (National Union) also criticized the appointment, saying that “thanks to the Prime Minister, Education Minister Sa'ar, Foreign Minister Lieberman and Sports and Culture Minister Livnat” - all of whom voted to approve Nitzan - “Nitzan will yet be the Attorney General and a High Court judge. The Likud has sold out to the left.”
