A report Sunday said that forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had destroyed the main water pipe to the northern city of Aleppo. Rebel forces said that the pipe was destroyed during a fierce battle between rebel forces and Syrian troops.

Several smaller water pipes are still bringing water into the city, reports said, but large parts of the city of 3 million people were without water.
