Iran said over the weekend that if Israel attacked its nuclear facilities, Hizbullah would respond with a massive missile attack. A top military official in Iran, General Yahta Safwe, was quoted in Iranian media as sating that “the opposition forces, and especially Hizbullah, will respond easily” in the event of an Israeli attack.
He added that Lebanon and Syria would also attack Israel in such an event, or in the event of an Israeli offensive against the PA, which, Safwe said, Iran saw as its duty to protect.
