MK Yariv Levin (Likud) criticized on Friday the intention to bring the decision to appoint Attorney Shai Nitzan for the position of Deputy Attorney General for government approval this coming Sunday.
Levin said the appointment is "wrong underhanded opportunism and an improper procedure which must stop immediately."
He added, "The issue of appointments to the judiciary leadership was sent to the State Comptroller for examination following a previous attempt to appoint Nitzan, and therefore we have to wait until the completion of the investigation before making the appointment. It's time that we stop limiting ourselves to being in power, but also rule according to our way and make appointments using a due process."
