Chairman Uri Ariel of the Knesset State Control Committee condemned, Friday, Thursday's appointment of prosecutor Shai Nitzan to be Deputy Attorney for Special Assignments. The National Union lawmaker said, in a statement, "The attempt to appoint Nitzan a special role specifically tailored for his measurements [Hebrew play on words for character traits -ed.] is not appropriate, especially when the Ministry of Justice should be an example of proper administration."
Ariel added, "The committee I head already warned about the manner and decided that the State Comptroller will investigate this problematic behavior and his probe is ongoing. Now I expect the Likud ministers, since they hurt the settlement enterprise time after time, will not lend a hand to the appointment of a man who works under a clear agenda of harming settlements and settlers."
