Hundreds of youths in forced stores in the center of Ramallah to close, Thursday, in protest of recent price increases that were made to the dismay of the merchants. The youths called out criticism of the economic policy of the Palestinian Authority cabinet and demanded the lowering of food and fuel prices. They also called for cancellation of the 1994 "Paris Agreement" between the PA and Israel, adding, "Before we were looking for Palestine. Now we're looking for bread."
The PA police did not step in and allowed the youths to demonstrate. Taxi and truck drivers also demonstrated, blocking the city's main street.
