Egypt: Seven Suspects in Rafah Attacks

Authorities in Cairo said, Thursday, that they have identified seven suspects, including an Egyptian citizen, in the August attacks on military positions in the Rafah area on the Gaza border, in which 16 Egyptian soldiers were murdered. Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal Ad-Din told the Al-Achbar newspaper that the Egyptian belonged to a sleeper jihadist cell. He did not detail the citizenship of the other suspects nor did he say if there are arrests in the case.

Egyptian media reports claim Gaza residents were involved and the Egyptian government has demanded their extradition.
