      Huge Cistern from 1st Temple Period Excavated


      A massive 8828.5 cubic ft water cistern has been excavated by the Antiquities Authority under Robinson’s Arch in the Jerusalem Archaeological Park, to the right of the Western Wall. The cistern is presumed to have provided for the population of Jerusalem and for pilgrims during the period of the First Temple.
