Gimpel Willing to Give Up Seat for Unity

Jeremy Gimpel, who is running for a spot on the Jewish Home party’s Knesset list, announced on Tuesday that he would be willing to sacrifice his position in the Jewish Home for the unity of the national-religious camp. The comments came in the wake of rumors within the national camp and Naftali Bennett's statement that he would prefer not to unite with MK Michael Ben-Ari.

“The main goal was never just to get to the Knesset, but to serve the people of Israel in the best way - without compromises and without personal interests that might cloud decisions,” Gimpel said. “The most significant challenge facing our public today is the challenge of unity, and we will do everything we can to ensure this - even if the result is that we do not sit in the next Knesset.”
