There were significantly fewer terror attacks against Jews in August 2012, compared to the previous month. In Judea and Samaria, there were 19 attacks in August, compared to 30 in July. In the Gaza area, there were 21 terror attacks in August, compared with 28 in July. However, there was a slight rise in the number of attacks in the Jerusalem area: nine in august, compared to six in July.

During August, 21 Kassam rockets and 3 mortar shells were fired at Israel by Gaza Arab terrorists. During July, 18 Kassams were fired at Israel, with 3 mortar shells fired.
