The gainers did slightly better than the losers at the start of trading, Monday, at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. A few minutes into the session, the TA Composite Index stood at 985.50, up .09 percent, while the same percentage increase meant a posting of 994.68 for the TA 100, including a .04-percent gain to 1,115.04 by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The biomed stocks led the gainers, rising .31 percent to 719.42, while the rest of the technology index stood at 356.95, up .16 percent, and the communications and media issues rose .19 percent to 442.15. The oil and natural gas stocks slipped .06 percent to 979.73 while the real estate index stood at 235.74, down .18 percent. The financial institutions declined .31 percent to 760.35; the bank issues standing at 839.14, down .22 percent and the insurance stocks down .24 percent at 753.18.
