The Ichud Hatzalah emergency service has renewed its campaign, launched half a year ago, of car-window stickers in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian and English, which read, "Don't leave me in alone in the car." The campaign was renewed following the death of a four-year-old whose lifeless body was found five hours after the boy was left alone in a car.
Ichud Hatzalah President Eli Bir said he initiated the campaign because of similar incidents in the past, including one in which the daughter of an acquaintence met a similar fate. Noting the similar age of the girl, Bir said he was reminded of her death by last week's incident. He said that the temperature inside a closed vehicle can climb in a matter of minutes, adding that if the stickers, placed on the driver's windshield, save even one life, the campaign will have done its job.
