The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange recorded modest losses, Sunday, in mixed trading on the first day of the trading week. The TA Composite index closed at 984.65, down .57 percent, while the TA 100 declined .58 percent to 993.76, including a .53 percent loss by the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues.
The communications and media stocks rose .79 percent to 441.33, while the oil and natural gas index finished the day at 980.35, up .06 percent. Worst hit were the insurance issues, which fell 2.07 percent to 755.01, followed by the bank stocks, which closed at 840.95, down 1.28 percent as the financial institutions declined 1.14 percent to 762.72. The real estate index finished the day at 236.16, down 1.01 percent and the biomed issues dropped .89 percent to 717.20, while the rest of the technology stocks closed at 356.37, down .74 percent.
