The board of directors of Ma'ariv over the weekend confirmed a rumor that the paper would end print publication. According to a report prepared for the Board and released to investors, the paper's daily edition will be available on the internet and on an application for the iPad, with a print edition coming out only on Fridays and holiday eves.

Speaking to Army Radio, long-time Ma'ariv columnist Ben-Dror Yemini said that there was “no need to panic” over the announcement, and that the change could have benefits. “After all, there will be far fewer forests cut down now, and maybe even more people will read the content.”
