A report said that a top Israeli security official was in Cairo over the weekend, speaking to security and defense officials there. The report in the state-controlled Al-Ahram newspaper said that the officials discussed, among other things, a deal to release Ouda Tarabin from an Egyptian prison. Tarabin has been in prison in Egypt for over 11 years.
In the deal, Israel would release 83 Egyptians in Israeli prisons. Israeli officials have not confirmed that such a proposal has been made.
